Agave Nectar Margarita

Fill a 14 oz. shaker with the following ingredients:

  • 2 oz. Hurradura Reposado
  • Splash of Cointreau
  • 1 oz Agave Nectar
  • 2 oz. Fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz. Fresh squeezed orange juice
  • Squeeze half of a lime
  • Cover, shake and pour over ice in a martini glass.

Apricot Berry Margarita

 

Muddle 6 pieces of strawberries and 2 whole raspberries in a pint glass.

Fill the glass with ice and add 1.5 oz Cabo Wabo Blanco, 2 oz of Jumex Apricot Nectar, 1 oz of lemon juice and 1 oz of agave nectar. 

Cover glass with metal shaker and shake intensely.  Add 2 dashes of Fee Brothers Cherry Bitters and garnish with raspberry.

Asian Pear Margarita

  • Pour 1.5 oz. Milagro Silver tequila in a shaker.
  •  
  • Add 0.5 Canton Ginger Liqueur
  •  
  • Add 2.5 oz. Jumex Pear Nectar (available at most grocery stores in the Hispanic isle)
  •  
  • Add 1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
  •  
  • Add 0.75 oz. ginger simple syrup (see instructions below)
  •  
  • Cover shaker with glass or shaker top – shake intensely to mix
  •  
  • Strain into 14 oz. glass with fresh ice
  •  
  • Garnish with sprinkle of cinnamon

 

Ginger Simple Syrup Recipe

1 cup water

2 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup peeled and sliced ginger

Bring water to a boil; reduce heat to low.

Add sugar and ginger; stir until sugar is dissolved.

Allow to simmer for about 30 minutes. 

Cool, strain and serve.

Avocado & Honey Dew Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 1.5 oz Corzo Silver Tequila
  • .5 oz Cointreau
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 2 oz Avocado & Honey Dew Puree
  • 1.5 oz Fresh Squeezed Lime
  • 1 oz Water

Shake until desired consistancy.

The ratio is half the amount of avocado to the amount of fruit.

Serve in your favorite margarita glass.

Berry Smash

Drop 2 strawberry pieces, 4 whole blueberries and 4 mint leaves into a pint glass and muddle.

Add 1.5 oz Milagro Silver Tequila

Add 0.5 oz Canton Ginger Liqueur

Add 1 oz lemon juice

Add 0.75 oz ginger syrup (homemade)*

Shake intensely and strain in a martini glass.

Garnish with berries and mint leaf.

 

*Ginger Syrup Recipe

0.25 cup water

0.5 cup granulated sugar

0.25 cup peeled and sliced ginger

Bring water to a boil; reduce heat to low.

Add sugar and ginger; stir until sugar is dissolved.

Allow to simmer for about 30 minutes.

Cool and strain.

Black Tie Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 2 oz Cuervo Black Tequila
  • ½ oz. Chambord
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, Chambord, agave nectar and fresh lime juice over ice. Shake and pour in martini glass, straining out ice.

Blood Orange & Elderberry Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 1 oz Chinaco Silver Tequila
  • 1 oz Ste Germaine Elderberry Liqueur
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Blood Orange Juice

Shake until desired consistancy.

Serve in your favorite margarita glass.

Blueberry Mojito

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 2 oz Sauza Tres Generaciones Plata
  • 1.5 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 10 Muddled Blueberries

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, lime juice and agave nectar over ice. Add muddled blueberries. Shake and pour in collins glass - add a splash of soda.

Cazadores Dirty Margarita

Start with a 14 oz. shaker and pour in the following ingredients:

  • 2 oz Cazadores Reposado
  • ¾ oz. Caramelized Simple Syrup
  • 4 oz. Jumex Tamarind Nectar

Squeeze 1 whole lime

Cover, shake and pour in a margarita glass. Ice is optional.

Cazadores Mistletoe Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a blender:

  • 2 oz Cazadores Reposado Tequila
  • 2 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 2 cups Crushed Ice

Blend until desired consistancy.

Pour 1 oz. Strawberry Mix in the bottom of a 16 oz. glass.

Pour blended margarita into glass on top of Strawberry mix.

Top with 2 oz. Midoro Melon.

Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita

Put 3 pieces of pineapple and 1-2 oieces of jalapeno (3-4 seeds) in a pint glass and muddle.

Fill glass with ice and add 1.25 oz. of 1800 Silver Tequila and 2 oz. top shelf base.

Cover glass with metal shaker and shake intensely to mix.

Garnish with a cucumber wheel.

Dirty Margarita

Start with a 14 oz. shaker and pour in the following ingredients:

  • 2 oz Herradura Reposado
  • ¾ oz. Caramelized Simple Syrup
  • 4 oz. Jumex Tamarind Nectar

Squeeze 1 whole lime

Cover, shake and pour in a margarita glass. Ice is optional.

Garnish with slice of lime.

Guanabana Margarita

Start with the following ingredients:

  • 2.0 oz. 1800 Silver
  • 1.5 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 1.5 oz. Fresh squeezed Lime Juice
  • 3 oz. Jumex Guanabana Nectar

Shake and serve with ice.

Guava Rose Cocktail

 

  • 4 slices of strawberry
  • 2 segments of grapefruit
  • 2 oz. Gran Centenario Rosangel Tequila
  • 0.5 oz. Monin Rose Syrup
  • 2 oz. of Jumex guava nectar
  • splash of soda
  • 1 dash of Fee Brothers Cherry Bitters

 

1. Place strawberries (save one for garnish) and grapefruit in a pint glass and muddle to break up the fruit.

2. Fill the glass with ice, add remaining ingredients, cover with metal shaker and shake intensely to mix.

3. Strain into martini glass.

4. Top with a splash of soda and add a dash of the bitters.

5. Garnish the glass with a strawberry slice.

Guava Strawberry Margarita

Put 3 chunks of strawberry in a shaker and muddle.

Fill with ice and add:

1.5 oz. of Dulce Vida Blanco tequila

1.5 oz. fresh lime juice

0.5 oz. organic agave nectar

2 oz. of Jumex guava nectar (available in most grocery stores in the Hispanic isle)

Cover shaker with glass or shaker top – shake intensely to mix

Strain into 14 oz. glass with fresh ice

Garnish with strawberry slice

Jasmine Orange Margarita

  • 2 oz Milagro Silver Tequila
  • .5 oz Monin Jasmine Syrup
  • .5 oz. lemon Juice
  • 3 1x1 inch pieces fresh orange
  • splash of soda

Muddle orange pieces
Add all other ingredients
Fill glass with ice and shake

Kiwi-Cucumber Margarita

  • 1.5 oz. Patron Silver Tequila
  • .5 oz. Cointreau
  • 1/2 Kiwi - chopped
  • 3 Chunks of Cucumber
  • 1.5 oz. agave nectar
  • 1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

Combine all ingredients with ice and shake.

Maraschino Clementine Martini

Pour 1.5 oz. Gran Centenario Silver tequila in a shaker.

Add 0.5 oz. Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur

Add 1.5 oz. fresh squeezed Clementine juice

Add 1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

Add 0.5 oz. organic agave nectar

Add ice to fill shaker

Cover shaker with glass or shaker top – shake intensely to mix

Strain into martini glass

Drop 1 dash of Fee Brothers Rhubarb Bitters (available at some liquor or specialty stores or they can special order it for you). 

Meyer Lemon Mint Margarita

 

Muddle 4 mint leaves in a pint glass.

Fill glass with ice, add 2 oz Gran Centenario Plata, 1.5 oz of lemon juice and 1.5 oz of agave nectar.

Cover glass with metal shaker and shake intensely to mix.

Pour into Collins glass and garnish with a lemon wedge.

Millionaire Margarita

Start with a 14 oz. shaker and pour in the following ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz Cuervo Reserva de la Familia
  • ½ oz. Grand Marnier Centenaire
  • 2 oz. Sweet and Sour

Fill with Sweet and Sour.

Cover, shake and pour in a margarita glass. Ice is optional.

Garnish with slice of lime.

Mistletoe Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a blender:

  • 2 oz Don Julio Reposado Tequila
  • 2 oz. Sweet and Sour
  • 1 oz. Tiple Sec
  • 2 cups Crushed Ice

Blend until desired consistancy.

Pour 1 oz. Strawberry Mix in the bottom of a 16 oz. glass.

Pour blended margarita into glass on top of Strawberry mix.

Top with 1 oz. Midoro Melon.

Orange Pineapple Crush

Put 3 pieces of pineapple in a pint glass and muddle.

Fill glass with ice and add 1.25 oz. of Don Julio Silver Tequila, 0.5 oz. triple sec, 2 oz. fresh squeezed orange juice, and 2 oz. top shelf base.

Cover glass with metal shaker and shake intensely to mix.

Garnish with an orange wheel.

Passion Fruit Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 2 oz Corazón Blanco
  • 1 oz. Passion Fruit Puree
  • 1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, passion fruit puree, orange juice, fresh lime juice and agave nectar over ice. Shake and pour in collins glass, straining out ice.

Peach Blueberry Margarita

Put 10 whole blueberries in a pint glass and muddle.

Fill glass with ice and add 1.5 oz. of Ambhar Plata Tequila, 0.5 oz. agave nectar, 1.5 oz. lime juice, and 3 oz. pureed peaches (see recipe).

Cover glass with metal shaker and shake intensely to mix.

Pour in a Collins glass and garnish with a couple of whole blueberries.

 

Pureed Peaches

Remove pit and cut peach into small chunks. Put in blender with tiny bit of water and blend until smooth.

Adjust water depending on how juicy the fruit is.

Pear Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 2 oz Don Julio Silver
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • .5 oz. Cointreau
  • 2 oz. Sir William Pear Puree

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, agave nectar, lime juice, Cointreau, and Pear Puree over ice. Shake and pour in collins glass.

Pineapple Hatch Margarita

 

Muddle 3 chunks of pineapple and a sliver of Hatch chile in a shaker glass.

Fill the glass with ice, 1.5 oz. Partida Blanco Tequila, 0.5 oz. agave nectar, and 1.5 oz. fresh lime juice.

Cover the glass with a metal shaker and shake intensely to mix.

Pour into a pint glass and garnish with a Hatch chile.

Plum & Sage Margarita

Muddle the following ingredients:

  • 1.5 oz. El Jimador Blanco
  • .5 oz. Cointreau
  • 1.5 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 1/2 Plum cut into small pieces
  • 4 Sprigs of Sage

Add ice, add a splash of soda and shake.

Pour into a Collins glass.

Pomegranate Clementine Margarita

 

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

- 2 oz Herradura Silver

- 1.5 oz. Perfect Puree Pomegranate Puree

- 1 oz. guava nectar

- 2 oz. fresh squeezed clementine juice

- 2 pieces muddled Clementine

- 2 oz. fresh squeezed lemon juice

Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice. Serve in a Collins glass garnished with a clementine wedge.

Prickly Pear & Hatch Martini

2 slivers of Hatch chile

Ice

1.5 oz. Ambhar Platinum Tequila,

0.5 oz. Fruit Lab Hibiscus Liqueur

2 oz. Finest Call Prickly Pear Juice

0.5 oz. lemon juice

Splash of Soda

 

 

Muddle one sliver of Hatch chile in a metal shaker until the chile breaks up. 

Add ice, tequila, hibiscus liqueur, prickly pear juice, and lemon juice.

Cover and shake intensely to mix.

Add a splash of soda.

Strain into martini glass.

Garnish with a sliver of chile and serve.

Ruby Red Grapefruit and Hatch Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

 

1.5 oz. Partida Silver Tequila

2 oz. fresh squeezed ruby

red grapefruit juice

0.5 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

2 thin slivers Hatch chile

1.5 oz. agave nectar

1 oz. water

 

 

Fill shaker with ice.

Pour tequila, grapefruit juice, lime juice,

chiles, and agave nectar over ice.

Shake and pour in Collins glass.

Serrano Mango Margarita

Start with a 14 oz. shaker and pour in the following ingredients:

  • 1 ½ oz. Dos Lunas Silver,
  • ½ oz Cointreau
  • ¾ oz. Fresh Mango or your favorite Mango Mix
  • 3 strips Serrano Pepper (Serrano Pepper must be seeded and scraped to remove the heat. Then cut into ¼ inch strips julienne style.)

Fill with 100% Agave Nectar

Cover, shake and pour over ice in 14oz Pint glass.

Garnish with one Serrano Pepper.

Signature Top Shelf Margarita

We feature a different tequila every month in our Top Shelf Margarita at Blue Mesa. Jim likes Sauza Conmemorativo, 1800 Añejo, Patron Silver, Don Julio Añejo, El Tesoro Añejo and Herradura Silver, but you can make it with the tequila of your choice.

  • Martini Shaker
  • Martini Glasses

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. 100% Agave Tequila
  • ½ oz. Cointreau (better than any Triple Sec!)
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
  • Lime wedge

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, Cointreau, and fresh lime juice over ice. Fill shaker with Sweet ‘n Sour (about 4 oz.).

Shake and pour in martini glass (salt rim, if desired), straining out ice.

Garnish with lime wedge.

Skinny Margarita

Pour 1.5 oz. PaQui Silvera tequila in a shaker.

Add 4 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

Cover shaker with glass or shaker top – shake intensely to mix

Strain into 14 oz. glass with fresh ice

Garnish with lime wedge

Spicy Raspberry Lavender Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

- 2 oz Gran Centenario Plata

- .5 oz. Monin Lavender Syrup

- 5-6 raspberries

- 1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

- 1 oz. Agave Nectar

Directions: Muddle above ingredients. Shake all ingredients with ice. Serve in a Pint glass.

Strawberry Guava Margarita

 

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

- 2 oz Partida Blanco

- 4-5 fresh strawberries

- 3 oz. guava nectar

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila and guava nectar over ice. Add muddled strawberries. Shake and pour in collins glass.

Tequila Sunrise

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 2 oz Cabo Wabo Silver
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 4 oz. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 5 Fresh Cherries

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, orange juice and agave nectar over ice. Add muddled cherries. Shake and pour in collins glass.

Watermelon Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a blender:

  • 2 oz Tezon Silver Tequila
  • 5 oz. Fresh Watermelon
  • 2 oz. Sweet and Sour
  • 1 oz. Tiple Sec
  • 2 cups Crushed Ice

Blend until desired consistancy.

Pour blended margarita into glass on top of Watermelon mix.

Top with ½ oz. Bacari Melon Liqueur.

Watermelon Orange Margarita

Combine the following ingredients in a shaker:

  • 2 oz Milagro Silver
  • 3 Medium Sized Watermelon Chunks
  • 2 oz. Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Agave Nectar

Directions: Fill shaker with ice. Pour tequila, orange juice, fresh lime juice and agave nectar over ice. Add muddled watermellon. Shake and pour in collins glass.
